Election of Council Members

Several members will be stepping down this year as their term of office ends. We try to maintain a balance between specialities and would be pleased to hear from anyone who has the time and energy to contribute to the work of Council, but especially those from GU Medicine and Pathology. Abigail Kingston, our webmaster, has worked hard to re-develop the website and would be pleased to have your feedback at Abi Kingston We are hoping to establish a Members area where, amongst other things, you will be able to update your contact details.

Janet McLelland

We were very sad to hear of the death of BSSVD member and sometime member of Council Dr Jan McLelland in October. Jan was a consultant dermatologist in Newcastle until recently, leading a very successful vulval service. She made a substantial contribution to vulval disease, participating and leading on many projects, papers and guidelines including the important document on ‘Standards of care for women with vulval disease’. She was also an honorary secretary of the BAD. Many of you will remember the excellent two day BSSVD meeting she organised in Newcastle a few years ago. She was a vivacious and friendly colleague and we will miss her.
